Er wird seine Amtszeit mit einem Antrittskonzert zum Start der Saison 2017\/2018 beginnen.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Bereits in der Spielzeit 2016\/2017 wird Andris Nelsons als Nachfolger von Riccardo Chailly das Gewandhausorchester in Leipzig dirigieren. Ausserdem wird Nelsons am 5. Mai 2016 ein Gastspiel des Boston Symphony Orchestra im Gewandhaus leiten.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Zugleich wird eine Partnerschaft zwischen dem Boston Symphony Orchestra, das Nelsons ebenfalls leitet, und dem Gewandhausorchester aufgegleist. Jedes Jahr wird ein Orchesterwerk gemeinsam in Auftrag geben. Den Beginn macht eine neue Komposition von J\u00f6rg Widmann, die in der Saison 2017\/2018 in Boston uraufgef\u00fchrt und dann in Leipzig zu h\u00f6ren sein wird. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;\">Die beiden Orchester werden \u00fcberdies je eine Konzertwoche gestalten, in der sie Werke aus dem Kernrepertoire des jeweils anderen Ensembles aufs Programm setzen.
